SNAP

The Special Needs Access Point (SNAP) is a single point of access for children up to 12 years of age who are currently attending or seeking to enroll in a licensed childcare program in Waterloo Region.

SNAP accepts referrals from childcare programs, parents and community agencies.  To make a referral, visit the referral tab on this website and go through the Decision Tree. A SNAP Coordinator will review your referral and connect you with the most appropriate services to support your child’s participation in a child care program.

SNAP Coordinators will meet with families when they are not in a licensed childcare and may require extra supports and services such as; special needs subsidy referral, registering for childcare programs etc. SNAP Coordinators will meet with you and your child to determine eligibility for these services.
